Everyone around the world are spell bound about the way Indians celebrate occasions.... simply b'cos of the wealth involved in celebrating the occasion, diwali christmas pongal or ramzan we celebrate every single festival ... I'm not gonna discuss abt the festivals .. its more abt the occasion of a single getting committed ... Indian marriages are generally celebrated for 3 days .. also involve so much wealth such that the savings of an individual is dried out after 3 days of marriage and a relatively rich man manages to make himself poor ...
Ive been wondering about the wealth .. y shud it b wasted in treating everyone u know ... let this b an happy occasion.. celebrate it for a day .. y 3 days of party ??? y to waste so much resources?? .. this was my attitude .. but today i managed to figure out an interesting news in paper shud say scary rather.. the newz was abt the declining female populations in india and an increase in decline at a constant rate ..
the newz was like this :- tried to figure out the exact newz ... but unsuccessful as u ppl wud b knowing ma memory is worth a shit .. ny wayz il try to make up .. it was abt the declining female population was initially 2 million .. has now risen to 5 million.. abt 25% do not live more than 16 ... and abt a 16% of 25 constitute female infanticide .. was shocked seein this newz .. thought i would scribble somethin .. all these must suggest that the Indian society is averted by the birth of female..
the first reason that stuck me was gr8 occasion ... the tradition that has grown with india over the days, so as to celebrate the occasion so grand that involves much wealth and major contribution b'longs to bride .. such tht ppl are averted by the birth of a female .. y shud this situation b so complex ..the gr8 occasion is celebrated so that the bridegroom advertises to the world that he has got a partner ( a rare one in india) since the difference being 5 million .. y advertise ?? n y make the occasion so grand??? n y shud one curtail the growth of the female population making the occasion so grand ??? its all us who complicate things .. the above situation can b eased making the grand occasion a occasion .... finally it comes to the shout of a bachelor .. who shouts with agony sayin that there are no enough girls who match his liking ..
the GR8 indian occasion

well u cant change Us(Indians) from celebrating a normal occassion as a grand one...it happens every where..i mean be it sports or anything else...v give crores of rupees to players if they win a series but dont care much abt dying farmers...so the bottom line is if u have money go for three days or how many days of celeberation he/she needs..otherwise cut the crap and celeberate to an extent in which u can afford..

really? i thought it was because a huge wedding was some sort of device to prevent people from eloping... "get arranged marriage beta. U will have a GRAND wedding with lots of money splashed left and right..."

Interesting post. Why wouldn't you want to celebrate? It obviously is a very human expression.
